Miss Arnold
Senior Leader Curriculum/ Art and Lifeskills Teacher
Teachers have one of the greatest impacts on young peoples lives. It takes many skills and techniques to be able to address each students needs and adapt lessons to every individuals different ways of learning. This is something that really motivates me. I was inspired by my teachers who had a positive impact on my learning in and outside of the classroom. Due to this I have wanted to positively impact on the lives of others and ensure that the curriculum we develop meets the needs of our students.
I have achieved a First Class degree in Fine Art an Art history and qualified as a teacher of Secondary Art and Design. I have worked in several different schools around Greater Manchester and have had the privilege of supporting the development of young people from a range of backgrounds and with a range of different abilities.
Curriculum development is essential to supporting the development of students learning. Making cross curricular links ensures that learning is reinforced and embedded. I believe that children should have teachers that believe in them and supports them to become the person that they aspire to be. I enjoy working at Penarth Group school as due to the small size of our school we are able to ensure that students get the support they need in their lesson and around school. We are also able to offer qualifications, such as Functional Skills, that suit the learners needs and interests

Before moving to the United Kingdom, I was teaching A Levels Mathematics and Physics for 18 years in the Republic Democratic of Congo. After completing My Masters degree in Pure and Applied Physics a few years after arriving in the UK, I completed my PGDE as well as my Qualified Teaching Status. I worked first as a volunteer of a teacher of ESOL and Maths at Gorton Evangelical Church for 2 years since 2012. Then I started to work for different agencies as a teacher of Maths, Science or a general cover for long and short terms or day to day teaching before moving to Penarth Group School since October 2020 as a supply teacher first and then as a permanent staff. I am very passionate about teaching Mathematics and love to show people that everyone can be good at Maths.
As a born again Christian and a pastor of a Christian church, I love to see live of people being transformed. That is why I am at Penarth to have a positive impact on the life of our young students.

Miss Copley
English and Hospitality and Catering Teacher
My name is Emma Copley and I am the teacher of English, Hospitality and Catering and Whole School Literacy Lead.
I was awarded a 2:1 BA Hons English degree from Lancaster University, completing modules such as child language, grammar, phonetics and literacy in education. I have a passion for English and enjoy reading and creative writing. The modules I completed whilst at university confirmed my desire to become a teacher and I completed a PGCE at Edge Hill University.
My vision is to ensure that each student progresses in literacy across the school with opportunities for cross curricular learning and engaging literacy-based activities during English and Literacy Intervention. It is a privilege to be working at Penarth Group School, creating memorable experiences and having a positive impact on the students, which will help them to grow and develop into successful adults.

I have a BSc in Psychology and an MSc in Sociology. Through these courses, I learned about various aspects of SEND and SEMH needs, which I found really interesting, and this led me to my current position working in Penarth Group School.
I am really enjoying using the theories and knowledge from my degree in practice and supporting young people in all different areas.

Miss Barlow
Behaviour and Attendance Officer
I am a firm believer in teaching our students values, manners and respect.
I chose to work with SEND schools because I believe I can offer support and patients to the students, that they may not have been receiving at mainstream school.
I studied hairdressing at NVQ level, then went on to study for my A levels, and am now currently studding for my BA Honors in Global Business Management Through The University of Suffolk GBS Manchester.
