Meet the Governors of Penarth Group School

 

Mrs Patricia Swallow

​Chair of the Governing Body

 

Patricia’s career in residential children’s homes began in 1994, rising steadily over the following years to become Head of Care in 1999, Patricia opened her first home in November 1995, second in 2000 and Penarth school in 2007.
She is immensely proud to be part of the Governing body and supporting the School in order to help drive success.Qualifications obtained are as follows:
NVQ Levels 3 & 4 : Children and Young People / NVQ 4 Management / Directors Course / Open university Course in Sociology / Open university Course in Caring for children and young people / Investors in people / Safer Recruitment and Various Governance training

 

 

Miss Wendy Jackson

​Co-Opted Governor
​​Vice-Chair of the Governing Body

 

Wendy is an enthusiastic, dedicated professional with extensive experience of Secondary Education, in Mainstream Schjools, Independent Provisions and Pupil Referral Units.
Mainly at leadership level with over 22 years knowledge of Education.
An extensive knowledge within the fields of behavior management, mentoring, coaching and negotiating skills. Extensive knowledge of the ICT area and Safeguarding.
Governance training leading on Safeguarding as part of an Interim Strategic Group (ISG) and Governance within an Academy Trust – Chair of Engagement Committee / Lead & Chair on Permanent Exclusions & Behaviour Panels for schools within an Academy Trust.In December 1999 Wendy supported the school in her role of External Education Consultant and then became the Headteacher at Penarth Group School in February 2020, staying in the posiiton until April 2022, when she moved to Spain, she supports the school through her role as Governor.

Qualifications obtained are as follows:
BSc in Computing and BSc in Software Engineering / PGCE with QTS / Professional Training of School Inspectors (SERCO) / Child Psychology Diploma (O.A.Dip) /National Award for Special Educational Needs Co-ordination (NASENCo) /National Professional Qualification Headship (NPQH) / Certificate in Life Coaching / Diploma in Performance Coaching / Human Resources Diploma / TEFL Certificate / Safer Recruitment and Various Governance training

 

 

Mrs Analeise Allen

​Co-Opted Governor

 

Analeise has worked in the care industry since 2003 and began working for Penarth Group in 2005 steadily rising to her position of Registered Manager. Analeise became the company’s Area Manager in September 2016.
She has always been passionate about contributing to the development of young people, particularly recognising the need to ensure that every single student has access to the best possible education and opportunities in life.Qualifications obtained are as follows:
Diploma Level 5 in Management & Leadership / NVQ 4 Care / NVQ 3 Children & Young People / Advanced GNVQ Health & Social Care / NVQ 3 Play Work / NVQ 3 Key Skills / Safer Recruitment and Various Governance training

 

 

Mr John Allen

​Co-Opted Governor / Clerk

 

John’s working background was retail management he began working for Penarth group in 2007. In December 2014 he was promoted to the companies Human Resource Manager, where he undertook many different tasks company wide, such as managing staffing recruitment and personnel, budgets, and company finances. In 2016 John was again promoted to the company’s Operations Manager where he, alongside the companies Area Manager together oversee the running of the company. He is committed to supporting Penarth Group School in providing the best possible opportunities and achieving the best possible outcomes for its students.

Qualifications obtained are as follows:
Diploma Level 5 Management / Diploma Level 4 in Business Administration / NVQ 3 Children & Young People / A Level: Psychology, Computer Programming, Law / Safer Recruitment and Various Governance training

 

 

Miss Bethany Arnold

Staff Governor

 

Bethany began working at Penarth Group School in May 2021 and began her NQT year.
She was promoted to Senior Leader – Curriculum and Examinations Officer in April 2022.
She has experience working in mainstream and independent provisions and has supported students with a range of needs such as SEND and EAL. She is passionate about developing a diverse curriculum that supports, stretches and challenges students in order for them to achieve and succeed.Qualifications obtained are as follows:
BSc in Fine Art and Art History / PGCE with QTS / Team Teach Training and Various other training.
